Annis Benjamin "Benjie" Nichols, 76, of Strange Creek, died March 4, 2011. He was born May 17, 1934 in Clay County a son of the late Woodie Lee and Adoline Jean Nottingham Nichols. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brother, Kenneth Lee Nichols; sister, Dolores Eileen Nichols Lloyd; brother-in-law, Carl Hilton Lloyd. He was a timberman and coal miner. He was a Protestant by faith. Benjie is survived by sister, Dreama Darleen Nichols Young (John Raban Sr.) of Strange Creek; three nephews, John Raban Young Jr. (Beverly) of Strange Creek, Daniel Lee Young (Iris) of Ashland, KY and Ronnie Ray Young (Lisa) of Strange Creek; grand niece, Michelle Dawn Short (Sam) of Frostburg, MD; three grand nephews, Mark Alan Young, Nathan Ray Young and Ryan Keith Young all of Strange Creek; great grand nephew, Logan Chaney Short of Frostburg, MD; and many friends. Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Rev. Johnny Conrad officiating. Burial will be in the Benjamin Dudley Nottingham Sr. Cemetery, Strange Creek.
